When I first came up with the idea of being called HIFA, about one year ago, I've decided to make a record related to the concept of this name. As an hypha works as an extension of the fungi, music also works as an extension of myself, and this record, whose tracks are named after the different steps of the sexual reproduction of the fungi, was my introduction to a new more serious way of producing music.
I've decide to reinvent the songs but keep the concept, because i thought it was a good way to close this year cycle ( that began exactly one year ago with Cu Duro e Dm) where i experimented lots of new techniques and sounds, trying to figure out my musical identity. It as a very fun year and i really need to thank a lot to all my friends who supported me, came to my shows, and are the best i could ever ask, to the Au Largo family for believing in me and being such great fucking people, to Beatriz Cosmos for all the amazing artwork and support, and to Edições Fauve for the special present that will be announced soon. Special thanks to Terrence Mckenna and Future for the voice samples.
This is my atempt to give a sound to fungi, with all the respect they deserve.
